AMA was commissioned by OGC, the Office of Government Commerce, to develop a workplace strategy for a number of their buildings including Trevelyan House and Rosebery Court. This involved bringing together staff from separate buildings, introducing flexible working and designing the fit-out of their new offices. Interviews, workshops and utilisation studies aided the development of a detailed and evidence-based brief for the new offices.
Collaborating closely with the client team and user groups, AMA was able to gain support for a working environment which encouraged new ways of working. As a result of the project OGC has been able to make a 20% reduction in space use overall and a 25% reduction in space per workstation as well as significant savings in running costs. In addition the cost of churn has been greatly reduced. The office provides a variety of workspaces using a combination of allocated desks, hot desks and touchdown facilities, together with individual quiet rooms, areas of soft seating and a mix of formal and informal meeting rooms.
