Fit out for Southwark Council to provide face-to-face customer facilities.
Designed by AMA, Southwark Council have just opened the first of their new customer-facing facilities under the brand of MySouthwark which brings the Council’s One Stop Shop facilities fully up to date and consistent with their on-line delivery of services.
The conversion of a two-storey retail unit at 11 Market Place, Bermondsey in South London is well placed to serve its local community and brings together council staff with the public in a warm and welcoming environment. The barrier-free design promotes an accessible and friendly public interface at ground floor whilst providing touchdown open-plan office space for the council at the upper floor.
Natural lighting and ventilation have been maximised throughout and energy demand has been significantly reduced by increasing the fabric insulation and using low energy lighting systems.
AMA provided the full range of architectural services, including design, furniture specification and contract administration with additional management support to ensure that the client met its commitment to the public to open the centre on time and within a significantly constrained budget. Our client said, 'Thank you for all your hard work on this project, which has meant that we have been able to open the customer service point before Christmas, and it is a success.'
