Tomʼs role at AMA includes managing space utilisation studies, analysing and interpreting high-level data, supporting stakeholder interviews and workshops and writing project reports. He has worked extensively with University College London, reviewing the quality and utilisation of teaching spaces campus wide. He has worked on projects for numerous other AMA clients including the Scottish Parliament, Imperial College London, the University of Oxford, University of the Arts London (UAL) and Özyeğin University, Istanbul, all of which have involved the collation and use of both qualitative and quantitative data to inform recommendations for future space requirements, efficiency and design.
Tom has an architecture degree from the University of Sheffield, where he conducted his dissertation research into the cityʼs Gleadless Valley Housing Estate; its past, present and potential future. This included in depth consultations with residents, as well as research into the effects of social and political change on public housing over the past 50 years. Tom also edited Sheffield School of Architecture's annual exhibition catalogue.
