Copenhagen International School
Learning environment workshop and guide
AMA was invited to conduct workshops with staff and parents of the Copenhagen International School in Denmark to define future aspirations as a brief to the architects. We applied an ‘A-Z’ structure to discuss crucial themes that influence the design of the learning environment. These include aspirations, food, IT, drama, neighbourhood, pedagogy, sustainability, user-friendly and welcoming. By discussing these topics, the school community was able to articulate clearly its vision and priorities for investment.
This workshop became the blueprint for AMA - ZED, a handy booklet that is a conversational tool for schools undertaking a building project. It serves as a guide to children, teachers and parents in applying the key principles that contribute to a successful learning environment for their own school.
